Case opens on a hinge to reveal three shelves of amber glass bottles with red metal lids; 21 bottles containing the following: aluminum sulphate, ammonium chloride, borax, calcium carbonate, copper sulphate, ferrous ammonium sulphate, ferric ammonium sulphate, logwood, manganese sulphate, nickel ammonium sulphate, powdered charcoal, powdered iron sulphide, powered iron; sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium ferrocyanide, sodium thiosulphate, sulphur, tannic acid, tartaric acid, and powdered magnesium; left side of box has one shelf with seven bottles; right side of box has two shelves with seven bottles on top shelf and seven bottles on the bottom shelf; bottom of each side of box has a yellow metal test-tube holder; yellow test tube holder on left holds three test tubes, one test tube with a thermometer, and five rods; yellow test tube holder on right holds twelve test tubes, eleven of the test tubes contain the following: calcium oxide, cobalt chloride, glycerine, sodium bisulphate, sodium bisulphide, sodium sulphocyanate, strontium nitrate, phenolphthalein, sodium iodide solution, powdered zinc, and sodium silicate; set comes with packages of congo red, calcium sulphide, red and blue litmus, and sulphide test paper attached to a blue cardboard insert.
