Brombacher, of the National Bureau of Standards, was the Secretary Elect of the ISA at the time of this photograph. The Ratio Recording Spectrophotometer (also known as the DK-2) was sold by Beckman Instruments in 1955, and could record three spectral ranges: ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared.
