Hirsch and many of his colleagues have been removed from their employment, forced to do hard labor, or sent to concentration camps. Hirsch inquires if current scientific literature could be procured for them in North America and sent to Europe, so that they can remain informed on developments in biology, chemistry, physics, and medicine.
