Lieber Max! Wir kommen eben von Go.‘s, wo in der Gartenstadt schon Alles herrlich blüht. Ich zeigte ihm Deinem Brief vom 3 d. M. wegen Deiner Differenz mit H.H.F. Er hielt es ebenso wie ich u. zwar ganz spontan ohne meine Beeinflussung für sehr gefährlich für Dich, diese Differenz bestehen zu lassen oder gar auf die Spitze (weniger für jetzt als für Deine Zukunft) zu treiben. Du riskierst nämlich bei späteren Auskünften über Dich u. ev. Anfragen als ein unverträglicher Mitarbeiter u. Mensch verschrien zu werden u. verlörest dann jede Aussicht für spätere Bewerbungen anderwärts, da ja fast immer noch private Auskünfte beim vorherigen Arbeitsgeber eingeholt werden. Also sei klug u. nicht zu hartnäckig! Was Du geleistet, wird sich auch ohnehin schon zeigen. In der Praxis ist es nun einmal so u. oft auch im akadem. Leben. Aber das gleicht sich Alles später aus, wenn man nicht zu bockig u. unklug ist. Ich wollte Dich nur noch einmal darauf aufmerksam machen, da Go. sofort von selbst die für Dich bestehende Gefahr bei Verärgerung von H.H.F. gesehen hat, die ev. auch Nord als Mitwisser u. Weiterträger verstärken könnte.

Dear Max,

We've just returned from visiting the Go.’s, where everything is already blooming wonderfully in the garden city. I showed him your letter from the 3rd of this month concerning your disagreement with H.H.F. Like me, he thought it would be very dangerous for you, quite spontaneously and without my influence, to let this disagreement persist or even to escalate it (less so now than for your future). You run the risk of being decried as a discordant employee and person if information is sought about you or inquiries are made at a later date. You will then lose any prospect of submitting future applications elsewhere, since information is almost always obtained from the previous employer. Be smart and not too stubborn! What you have achieved will be obvious anyway. In practice, that's the way it is, and it's often the case in academic life as well. However, it will all work itself out later if you're not too stubborn and unwise. I just wanted to draw your attention to this again, because Go. immediately recognizes the danger that exists for you if H.H.F is irritated. As a confidant and meddler, Nord could possibly make the situation worse.
