Lieber, sehr verehrter Herr Professor!

M.A. Bredig

Dear Professor,
I would like to thank you very much for your letter from June 23rd and apologize for not expressing myself clearly enough in my last letter. In response to your questions, I would first like to request that you let Dr. Schleede know that an appointment in January is too far in the future for me. I would also like to mention that 200 Marks a month would seem sufficient for my living costs in Munich. I would especially like to devote myself to interferometric work.
For my stay here, the scholarship from the funding agency is arranged just for me. Professor Pohl informed me a few days ago that there are still difficulties with the application’s approval. The funding agency expressed concerns about simply filling the gap until the Rockefeller Scholarship begins.

In the meantime, however, Professor Pohl informed Berlin that the exchange scholarship did not come to fruition. Hence, hopefully the approval will come through. It would be nice, dear Professor, if you could get an extension for me in Munich. When could I start working there?
Sincerely,
M.A. Bredig
