The Ministry of Education, Culture, and Justice notifies Georg Bredig (1868-1944) that he has been relieved of his teaching and research duties at the Karlsruhe Technical University. Although Georg Bredig retired on his own initiative, it came in the wake of increasing antisemitism towards Jewish academics in Germany under the Third Reich. In April 1933, the Third Reich had additionally passed The Law for the Restoration of the Professional Service, which prevented Jews and political opponents from working in university and government positions.
