The Synchron systems run a wide range of clinical chemistry tests including drug and biological fluid analyses. The Astra 8 analyzer used multiple channels to perform continuous flow and discrete analyses of electrolytes and "routine chemistries." It was controlled by a microprocessor with 52K bytes of memory.
