Selfhelp of Emigres from Central Europe, Inc. was founded in 1936 by German Jews in New York to support new immigrants fleeing persecution in Nazi-occupied Europe. Today, the foundation still exists as Selfhelp Community Services. This February 1942 newsletter contains a call for participation in sewing groups, as many incoming refugees are in need of clothing.
