Letter from John Charles Waterman (1857-1939) to his future son-in-law, Otto Haas (1872-1960). Otto Haas, co-founder of Rohm & Haas, married Phoebe Waterman Haas (1882-1967) in 1914. Phoebe Waterman Haas was one of the first American women to earn her doctorate in astronomy in 1913.
