Lieber Max-Albert!
Wie mir Straus dies heute auf Anfrage bestätigte u. ich Dir schon gestern schrieb, wird der „Bonus“, den man u. auch wir ja nur zur (ärmlichsten) Entschädigung von Zinsfusskonvertierungen im Jahre 1935 erhielten, nicht als „Einkommen aus Kapitalertrag“ gerechnet u. braucht also daher in der Eink.-Steuererklärung nicht mitgerechnet zu werden.
Du hattest erhalten im Jahre 1935 folgenden „Bonus“ (2% des nomin. Kapitals der betr. Effecten).
am 15 Apr. aus Reichsschuldenbuch 20.- RM
am 4 Apr. Aus Pfandbriefen (Frank. Preuss. u. Rhein) 40.- RM
am 3 Juli aus Frankf., Schleswig. Holst., Meininger u. Rhein 130. - RM
am 3. Okt aus (Schleswig – Holst.) 12. - RM
also Summe 202. - RM
Diese Summe von R.M . 202 hast Du wohl zuviel bei Deinem „Einkommen aus Kapitalertrag“ angegeben u. musst Du also vor Abgabe der Erklärung zur Einkommensteuer noch abziehen! Wenn Du diese aber schon abgegeben hast, musst Du wohl den Abzug, wenn er etwas an der Steuersumme ändert, durch eine schriftliche „Berichtsgang“ an das Finanzamt abziehen.

Ob es ausserdem richtig ist, 2 mal in einem Jahre die Couponzinsen per 1. Jan. als Jahreseinkommen anzugeben, scheint mir auch fraglich.

Dear Max-Albert,
As Straus confirmed to me today upon request and which I wrote to you about yesterday, the bonus, which we only received at the most minimal level of compensation for interest rate conversions in 1935, is not counted as “income from capital gains.” Hence, it does not need to be included in the income tax return.
In 1935, you received the following bonus amounts (2% of the nominal capital of the stocks and shares in question):
on 15 April from the Reich debt book 20.- RM
on 4 April from the bonds (Frank. Preuss. and Rhein) 40.- RM
on 3 July from Frankf., Schleswig. Holst., Meininger and Rhein 130.- RM
on 3 October from (Schleswig – Holst.) 12. - RM
Total 202. - RM
You probably overestimated this amount of 202 Reichsmarks in your “income from capital gains” and must therefore deduct it before submitting your income tax return! However, if you have already submitted this, and the tax amount changes, you will probably have to state the deduction in writing to the tax office.

It also seems questionable if it is correct to state the coupon interest twice a year as annual income.
