Dear Dr. Bredig,
This morning Mr. Walter Forming from the Chrysler Corp. dropped in on his infrequent visits to Ann Arbor. He talked employment, and I asked him if he had received any communication from Dr. Reis. I think I told you that I had send a better addressed to Mr. Forming, to Dr. Reis, right after he had been visiting in Ann Arbor, as an introduction. However, Forming said that he had not had any letter. This on three possibilities: 1: Reis has not got my letter. 2: I may have expressed myself in such a way that Dr. Reis did not feel like sending the letter. If that is the case it is certainly unintentionally and would be due to a misunderstanding on Dr. Reis’ part. 3: Dr. Reis’ letter may not have reached Mr.

Forming. In any case; I am sorry for it, because now Mr. F. has, or pretends to have some real interest in employing Dr. Reis. His age, instead of a detriment is an advantage because of possible draft for younger men. I suggested that if it was impossible to have Dr. R. in the laboratory he might be employed as a consultant and see the lab people outside the plant. In any case something might happen. I don’t have Dr. R’s vitae since I think I sent it to Mr. McCutcheon. Also he may not live in the same place as when he was here. Could you perhaps phone him and ask him to send some information about himself to Mr. Walter E. Forming, Engineering Division, Chrysler Corp., Highland Park, Detroit. He can use my name, and as reason for visiting given that he just has heard that Mr. F. has not got my letter. I also promised Forming to send him Dr. Reis’ address so it is possible that the two letters may cross. I may have to give him your address and ask you to forward.
