Lieber Doktor Bredig!
Besten Dank für die Karte von gestern. Mit Herrn Dr. Würt habe ich wegen meiner und seiner Reisen letztens die Fühlung verloren und heute hörte ich im Laboratorium, dass er meinte, ich käme erst am 3.10 zurück und dass er selbst auch nicht hierher sein soll. Ich schreibe ihm gleichzeitig, bin aber nicht sicher, ob ihn mein Brief rechtzeitig erreicht. Sollte er tatsächlich nicht früher hier sein, so wäre Ihr Kommen am Mittwoch nicht zu spät, umsomehr als ich mit ihm noch die Praktikumsanleitung, die im Druck ist, besprechen muss. Wir wollen also unsere Verabredung dann andern, dass ich Sie am Mittwoch, d.5. abends erwarte. Falls ich nicht mehr Ihnen eine Nachricht zukommen lassen bis dahin, dürfte auch meine Frau zurück sein und sie wird sich sehr freuen Ihre Frau Mutter hier einige Tage sehen zu können.

Dear Dr. Bredig,
Thank you for the postcard yesterday. I recently lost contact with Dr. Würt because of our travels. In the laboratory, I heard that he said I wouldn’t return until October 3rd and that he wouldn’t be here either. I will write to him at the same time, but I’m not sure if my letter will reach him in time. If he really isn’t here earlier, it wouldn’t be too late for you to come on Wednesday, especially since I must still discuss the position instructions with him. Therefore, we should change the date of our appointment to the evening of October 5th. If I don’t send you a message by then, my wife should also be back, and she will be very happy to visit with your mother here for a few days.
