This gas chromatograph prototype was made by Beckman Instruments' Space Engineering Group for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). It would continuously monitor and provide readouts for up to eight gases within an enclosed environment. It weighed under 12 pounds, contained its own helium carrier gas supply, and consumed less than 10 watts of electricity.
