This illustration comes from the chemical catalog for the Grasselli Chemical Company in Cleveland, Ohio. It includes a short company history, a list of chemicals manufactured by the company, and summaries on the history and use of some of the chemicals. Throughout the pamphlet there are allegorical illustrations in the art nouveau style. Many of the illustrations are signed C. H. Crittenden.
