Caricature of American chemist Harry Nicholls Holmes (1879-1958) created by artist J.C. Weller at the 1931 American Chemical Society National Meeting in Buffalo, New York. A long-time Professor of Chemistry at Oberlin College, Holmes' research interests included colloids and vitamins. Holmes served as President of the American Chemical Society in 1942.
