Digitized in entirety, this first English edition of the German Das Mineralreich in Bildern (Stuttgart, 1858) contains 24 lithographed plates with one chromolithograph and 22 hand-colored illustrations of 288 minerals, including gemstones and precious metals. Of particular note is a five-page table of the chemical elements (pp. 7-11), consisting of two parts: I. Metalloids, non metallic elements; and II. Metals.
