Paper cut of Paul C. Lauterbur (1929-2007) depicted as a samurai. The edges of the paper appear distorted due to the shadows of the paper cut. In 2003 Lauterbur and Peter Mansfield (1933-2017) were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discoveries concerning magnetic resonance imaging.
