Hiroshi Tamiya caricature sketch book

1 item

This sketchbook was created by Hiroshi Tamiya, a Japanese plant biochemist. Eighteen pages of the book are used; fourteen contain artwork, and the remainder are messages to the artist.

Tamiya was a leading postwar Japanese scientist specializing in Plant Physiology. At the time of the creation of these sketches, he was employed as a Native Guide to two successive committees of top American scientists sent to Japan under NAS auspices on combined goodwill and fact-finding visits.
