Series table with interrupted short periods
- 1869 (Original design)
- Circa 1957 (Date attributed to slide)
Graphic representation of the periodic table of chemical elements by Dmitri Mendeleev with additions by Edward G. Mazurs. Mendeleev originated this series table with interrupted short periods in 1869 and Mazurs classified the table as Type IC2-3 in his seminal work Types of Graphic Representation of the Periodic System of Chemical Elements (1957). A version of this table, without Mazurs' addition of new elements and electron subshells, appears as Figure 53 on page 125 of Mazurs' 1957 publication.
