Dear Dr. Bredig,
I am spending a week’s vacation in Atlantic City and this, finally, gives me the leisure for private correspondence. I am sorry for the delay in returning the letter. At least you have received the money in the meantime.
I hope you have a pleasant winter, even if you did not go away on your vacation. I dedicated this week to my health, sleeping and resting and going for long walks as I am very hungry for air. Upon my return to New York I’ll have only 5 days time to prepare for my next trip which I’ll spend in Washington and Pennsylvania visiting friends, i.e., that well I dedicated to pleasure. You probably wonder about my many vacations. These are left over from the last 2 years and have nothing to do with my summer vacation of this year. If it weren’t for the large amount of time off, I would have quit my job long ago. But I won’t find such short working hours again!

I am still in your apartment but living in that neighborhood is getting more and more unsafe so that it is only a question of time when I will have to move. I may try to change my job at the same time. But all this are very vague ideas, so far. If and when you come to New York it would be nice if you could find the time to see some old friends. If you tell us in advance, maybe we could arrange it so that you can meet them all at once.
Remember me to Mrs. Bredig. All the best to all of you.
Yours,
Ilsa Hayn
