General view of the Physical Properties Laboratory at the Naval Air Experimental Station showing assorted equipment used for the evaluation of rubber and rubber-like materials. Machinery and apparatus used in the laboratory included two Scott Tensile Testers, six Yerzley oscillographs for amplification of small static deflections, a Bashore resiliometer for rebound measurements, and assorted plastometers. The laboratory also housed two high-temperature and two low-temperature test chambers for conducting physical tests at extreme temperatures. This photograph was included in a 1949 Naval Air Experimental Station report on compounding rubber.
