Harold C. Urey (1893-1981) writes a letter condemning Congressman J. Parnell Thomas (1895-1970) for his unsavory comments about American nuclear physicist, Edward U. Condon (1902-1974). Urey invites the letter recipients to attend a dinner, hosted by Albert Einstein (1879-1955), as an expression of shared support for Condon. Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
