Black and white photograph of the 1899 Christmas party for the Physical Chemistry Institute at the University of Leipzig.

Georg Bredig (1868-1944) has identified some of the men in the photograph as Frederick William Skirrow (1876-), "Foulk", "Drucker", "Mrs. Isaposchnikoff", "Reichenbach," Johannes Brode (1874-1936), Hans Heinrich Landolt (1831-1910), "Eikstaedt", Alexander Findlay (1874-1966), Charles Edward Fawsitt (1878-1960), "Whatmong", "Ernst", Lmeaton", "Gros", and "Zapfe". The the middle (7th from the right) is Wilhelm Ostwald (1853-1932). The subjects of the photograph surround a large decorated Christmas tree. In the foreground are women and children.
