Charles E. Sholes & Company, or C. E. Sholes & Company, was founded on July 28, 1904 by Charles E. Sholes, B. F. Ashley, and T. B. Carpenter in New York City, New York. The company produced products including brimstone, copper sulphate (blue vitriol), nitrate of soda, phosphoric acid, sulphate of ammonia, and sulphur. The company existed until at least 1911, when, around this time, it was acquired by Du Pont.
