Graphic representation of the periodic table of chemical elements designed as an unsymmetrical series table in which the elements of short periods are placed in different subgroups. This table was originated by German chemists Heinrich Friedrich Gretschel (1830-1892) and Georg Bornemann (b. 1855) in 1883 and classified by chemist Edward G. Mazurs as Type IC2-4 in his seminal work Types of Graphic Representation of the Periodic System of Chemical Elements (1957).
