The Reich Flight Tax was implemented in 1931 during the Third Reich. The laws were meant to survey and fine any Jewish peoples suspected of having intentions to emigrate. In order to legally leave Germany, Jewish people needed to pay the Reich Flight Tax. The tax was used as a form of "legalized theft" to confiscate Jewish assets. In total, the Nazi government collected 342 million Reichsmark (ℛℳ) by 1938, equivalent to 4 Billion USD in 2019.
