Hochgeehrter Herr Doctor
Ich beeile mich Ihnen meinen verbindlichsten Dank auszusprechen für „die anorganische Fermente“, die ich die Ehre hatte zu bekommen. Ein neues Feld ist der wissenschaftlichen Forschung erschlossen, dessen Tragweite noch nicht zu erblicken ist! Die Katalyse beherrscht alle die Hauptgruppen der chemischen Reaktionen. Auch bei der Bildung einiger organischen Verbindungen bin ich mit ausgeprägten katalytischen Erscheinungen begegnet, die sich bei Ausschluss von Wasser; sondern in den indifferenten organischen Lösungsmitteln sich abfinden.

Die Lectüre Ihrer Abhandlung gab mir einige Werke, die ich demnächst für meine Arbeit zu verwehrten gedenke. Wie Sie sehen ich muss Ihnen für die Abhandlung doppelt dankbar sein.

Dear Doctor
I hasten to express my great appreciation for your treatise “Inorganic Fermentation”, which I was honored to receive. A new field has arisen from scientific research, the scope of which has yet to be seen! Catalysis dominates all the main groups of chemical reactions. In the formation of some organic compounds, I also encountered pronounced catalytic phenomena. These result when water is excluded but are then found in detached organic solvents.

Reading your treatise provided me with some references that I intend to not use for my work in the near future. As you can see, I am dually grateful to you for the treatise.
