Mein liebes Jungel!
Deine Karte vom 17. Aug. u. 11.

Dear Lad,
We received your postcards from August 17th and September 11th. Many thanks for them. I haven't written since the end of August because I've been very busy with moving preparations, which are now almost finished. Father has a beautiful, sunny apartment. However, when he wanted to sleep there for the first time yesterday, he couldn't because of the noise from the street. It was better today, but how this issue will be resolved is still unclear and worries me. We may have to swap his study and bedroom. You know how much work that is, but it wouldn't be a big deal if he would help.
Well, it will work out. The move wasn't easy, especially with the renovations. However, Father is very active. He sometimes crawls under the table too much, climbs ladders, and doesn't follow directions. The children are still in Bleicherode because the schools are still closed due to polio. Walter is in Frankfurt. On October 1st and 2nd, father turns 70 and Viktor turns 50.

We will miss you then and be thinking of you fondly. If you could find a suitable cake, that would be the best gift for all of us. We certainly hope that day will come soon. Don’t worry and stay healthy. Are you well cared for in the new apartment? Of course, I always want to know everything! We're fine. I'm happy working in my little garden. I've always been a home body anyway, which is good for us now. Rest assured that we will always think of you with love.
Warmest regards,
Your sister Anndel

Dear Max,
I am very happy that you are well. You will certainly get a position soon! For some time now, we've been thinking about Aryanizing our papers. However, given the stress of the last few weeks, we haven't come up with a tangible plan (this just for your information)!
Kind regards,
Viktor
