Portrait of Edgar Monsanto Queeny (1897-1968), U.S. industrialist and chairman of the Monsanto Company from 1928 to 1960. The son of Monsanto founder John Francis Queeny, Edgar Monsanto Queeny is credited with navigating the company through the 1929 stock market crisis and for managing its expansion from a small chemical company specializing in commodity food additives like artificial sweeteners to a global agrochemical and agricultural biotechnology corporation.
