Sehr verehrter Herr Kollege!
Meinen Versprechen gemäss gestatte ich mir kleine Zusammenstellung von mathematischen Übungsbeispielen von praktischer Bedeutung für Chemiker und Physikochemiker zu überreichen, die keineswegs als vollständig oder abgeschlossen zu betrachten ist, sondern Ihnen nur etwa die Typen von Aufgaben andeuten soll, die dem Chemiker begegnen. Im übrigen muss ich natürlich wie bisher auf Lehrbücher:
Nernst-Schönfliess: Einführung in die mathematische Behandlung der Naturwissenschaften, 5. Aufl. 1907.
Mellor: Higher Mathematics (Langman Green u. Co., London 1909 3. Aufl.)
Nernst: Theoretische Chemie (11. – 15. Aufl.)
John Eggert: Lehrb. d. physikalischen. Chemie (1926).
A. Eucken: Grundriss der physikalischen Chemie (1922) (Chemische Physik 1930).

Sehr erwünscht wäre auch u.U. die Näherungsformel und die Methode der kleinsten Quadrate, wie sie in den entsprechenden Kapiteln von Kohlrausch-Warburg: Lehrb. d. praktischen Physik gegeben wird. Ich habe Herrn Collegen Prof. Dr. H. Mark ebenfalls gebeten, eine Liste von Aufgaben zu senden.

Dear Colleague,
As promised, I take the liberty of providing you with a brief compilation of mathematical exercises of practical importance for chemists and physical chemists. They should by no means be regarded as complete. Rather, they should give you an idea of the type of work that chemists encounter. Furthermore, as always, I must naturally refer to textbooks:
Nernst-Schönfliess: Introduction to the Mathematical Application of Natural Sciences, 5th edition, 1907
Mellor: Higher Mathematics (Langman, Green, and Company, London, 1909, 3rd edition)
Nernst: Theoretical Chemistry (11th – 15th editions)
John Eggert: Textbook of Physical Chemistry (1926)
A. Eucken: Outline of Physical Chemistry (1922) (Chemical Physics 1930)
I would also appreciate receiving the approximation formula and the least squares method, as described in the relevant chapters of the Textbook of Practical Physics by Kohlrausch and Warburg. I have also asked my colleague Professor Dr. H. Mark to send a list of works.
