19th-century bound thesis by Moses Stielmann, a chemistry student at the Riga Technical University in the Russian Empire (now Latvia) on the effects of ethyl a-bromoisobutyrate on hydroquinone. The thesis ends with a note to his advisors, Carl Adam Bischoff (1855–1908) and Paul Walden (1863–1957), thanking them for their support and advice.
