- 1906-May-29

Sehr verehrter Herr Professor!
Gruss.
Ihr G. Bredig

Dear Professor,
In response to my request, I have just received the enclosed letter from Professor Tammann, in which he refuses to include a short obituary for Meyerhoffer in the Journal of Inorganic Chemistry. Please be assured, esteemed Professor, that I am extremely sorry that I cannot fulfill our request in this manner. However, I think that you will probably include the deserved commemoration for him in the report and the rest will -----.
At most, if you would like, I could ask the Journal of Electrochemistry or a mineralogical journal (Rosenbusch) if they would include a short obituary (with a portrait).
I hope the days you spent in Dresden went well. I am still struggling here with the problem of working with a good number of competent students without my own budget or the right to dispose of my own work. It's still tolerable, but you must neglect a lot of things that would otherwise work.
Yours sincerely,
G. Bredig
