Lieber Vater!
Liebes Vaterle! Auch von mir sehr innige Grüße. Mit Schanghei scheint es nicht zu sein! Sonst garnichts Neues! Sehr herzlich
Deine Marianne
Viele Grüße an Maxll. Butterteig??

Dear Father,
Your birthday letter from September 4th, which arrived three days ago (right on time), brought me great joy. I would like to thank you and Max for your good wishes. I already wished you a Happy Birthday in a longer letter, which was sent on September 12th. I hope you received it. In any case, I wish you all the best. I don’t know of any news concerning us to tell you today. Lene, who was visiting her brother-in-law in Freiburg, departed for Berlin yesterday with her friend Aline. We are doing well. We look forward to hearing more about Walter and whether it is possible for him to come to you, and if Gerhard Kander and Manfred Homburger are with him, and much more. We would also like to know how Peter and Wolfgang are doing. Hopefully, you can enjoy the Indian summer and feel more refreshed and active after the heat and humidity have subsided! Best wishes to you, Max, and Liselotte etc.
Yours truly,
Viktor
Dear Father, Hi from me too! Shanghai didn’t seem to work out. Otherwise, nothing new.
Love,
Marianne
Hi to Max! Does he know that you like to eat milk chocolate bars, cookies, or pastries made from Bisquick or puff pastry dough?
