The volume includes a paper written and read for the Fourteenth Annual Convention of the California Miners’ Association by Roland L. Oliver, The Value of Detonating Caps in Blasting. Contains sections concerning the strength of explosives, properties of detonating compounds; combustion, explosion, and detonation, proper care of fuses, and suggestions to ensure the best results in blasting.
