Volume presents and advertises the Edge Moor Iron Company's Water Tube Boiler apparatus, the company's principal product. Thoroughly illustrated with black and white photographic and intaglio prints depicting the company's manufacturing equipment and three varieties of water tube boiler: standard, with superheating outlets, and superheaters. Also includes images of Edge Moor boilers installed in various plants, amounting to 63 illustrations in total. The work is digitized in its entirety.

The Edge Moor Iron Company was incorporated in Delaware in 1869 by Eli Garrett and William Sellers, a noted Philadelphia mechanical engineer. In addition to boilers, the company engaged in the manufacture of iron and steel bridges at a plant located on the Delaware River north of Wilmington. Among its more important projects were the deck of the Brooklyn Bridge, the second Rockville Bridge over the Susquehanna River, and the Kentucky River Bridge of the Cincinnati Southern Railroad.
