In 1966, Beckman Instruments' Advanced Technology Operations (ATO) was responsible for some program support of this system made for NASA under subcontract to the (then) Lockheed Missiles and Space Company. Specifically, the ATO developed, fabricated, tested, and delivered the Clinical Measurement Station subsystem. Overall, the IMBLMS was intended to provide experimental, diagnostic, and prognostic medical and scientific testing for the astronauts aboard a spacecraft.
