Lieber Max-Albert! Seit Deiner kurzen Ansichtskarte aus Stockholm vom 27.8. sind wir ohne jede Nachricht von Dir, was uns etwas beunruhigt. Hoffentlich bist Du gesund heimgekehrt u. musst Du Dich nicht so sehr, wie ich, von der „Erholungsreise“ erholen. Marianne (mit Frau Lot.) ist sehr fleissig und tapfer beim Putzen der Wohnung, was bei meiner Bibliothek wirklich eine Riesenarbeit ist. Von Frl. Be. hat sie noch keine Nachricht u. weiss daher immer noch nicht, wann u. ob sie nach Charl. zurückkehren wird. Tante Ida ist in Olyakansen im Sept. Sonst nichts Neues. Schreibe bald (wenn auch vorläufig kurz). Deinem Dich auch in Mariannes Namen, herzl. Grüssen von Vater

Dear Max-Albert, Since your brief postcard from Stockholm on August 27th, we haven’t heard any news from you, which worries us a little. Hopefully you have returned home, are healthy, and don’t have to recover from your vacation like I did. Marianne (together with Mrs. Lot.) is very diligent and good natured about cleaning the apartment. There is really a lot to clean in my library. She hasn’t heard any news from Ms. B and therefore still does not know when and if she will return to Charlottenburg. Aunt Ida will be in Olyakansen in September. Otherwise there is nothing new. Write soon (albeit briefly for the time being). Warm regards, Father (and Marianne)
