Lieber Max!
Schicke also Deine Sachen ev. rechtzeitig hierher!
26 d.M.) an Heimreise denken.
Grüssen, even. auch an Tante Kaethe,
Dein Vater

Dear Max,
Thank you very much for your letter of 7th of this month. I am writing in pencil because the reservoir of my fountain pen is broken. I want to maintain my current method of copying letters because the ink method of copying is out of date. Hopefully are doing well. I am also fine. The letter from Arrhenius is very pleasant and nice, but it doesn’t really help. However, keep this option as a back up. Even if I.G. becomes more authoritative on account of Wildhag., it is questionable whether you will succumb to the same fate that befell me in Heidelberg.
There is nothing new to report here, but the laundry will be done on March 22nd, i.e. next Monday. Send your things here on time!
Marianne is probably thinking of returning home (no later than 26th). Be nice to her. She can tell me more about you in detail, which of course I'm always interested in. What will become of her? Aunt Vally's birthday is on March 26th. Would you visit me at Easter? We can still discuss this with Marianne.
Warm regards to you and Aunt Kaethe,
Father
