Portrait print of German chemist Robert Bunsen (1811-1899). Along with physicist Gustav Kirchhoff (1824-1877), Bunsen discovered caesium and rubidium. Bunson studied the emission spectra of heated elements and developed the bunsen burner with Peter Desaga (1812-1879). Bunson was a pioneer in photochemistry and organoarsenic chemistry while also developing gas-analytical methods.
