Galvanometer
- 1960
Six volt galvanometer in a rectangular wooden case with rubber feet. A brass lever at the top of the case provides coarse zero adjustment; two black plastic and metal knobs on the right side of the case provide fine zero adjustment; the front of the case features a glass window with two scales; on the right side of the case, close to the scale, is a stainless steel knob; on the left side is the power source recessed in a stainless steel frame with a label above; on the front of the case is a metal tag with manufacturing information; and underneath, on a swiveling screw, is a white plastic tag with product information, including date of manufacture.
Galvanometers detect and measure small amounts of electrical current through the use of a magnetic needle or a coil in a magnetic field.
