Compiled by Gerard from works by Turner, Rembert Dodoens, Iacobus Theodorus, Pena and L'Obel, this English botanical book includes numerous woodcuts of plants. The lavishly illustrated title page is engraved by John Payne. Digitized content includes the cover, title page and select woodcuts. Woodcuts selected for digitization depict varieties of poppy, anemone, dragon fruit and bananas, as well as cherry, fig and date trees. Odd pages digitized from page 367 to 383 (incorrect pagination printed as page 401 crossed out in pencil with correct page order notated; should read page 371). Pages 1502, 1504, 1510, 1512, 1514, 1516-1517, 1519, 1523 also digitized.
