Graphic representation of the periodic table of chemical elements consisting of a series table of representative elements with supplementary tabulations for transitional and rare earth elements. These tables were originated by chemist J.D. Main (John David) Smith in 1927 and classified by chemist Edward G. Mazurs as Type IC1-2 in his seminal work Types of Graphic Representation of the Periodic System of Chemical Elements (1957). These illustrations appear as Figure 23 on page 105 of Mazurs' 1957 publication.
