This collection consists of two sets of material. The first is a comprehensive run of reprints of papers authored or co-authored by the Nobel-prize winning chemist Robert Bruce Merrifield. The second set is a collection of materials used by Merrifield and the American Peptide Society in the creation of a film titled Peptide Protein Synthesis.
Only a small portion of this collection has been digitized.

Bruce Merrifield's peptide synthesizer

Bruce Merrifield shows one of the first automated peptide synthesizers that he, John Stewart, and Nils Jernberg built in the 1960s. Merrifield won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1984 for his work on peptide synthesis.
