International Fertilizer Distributor machine
- 1944-Jul-14
General view of an International Fertilizer Distributor (No. 49 Machine) in use at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Plant Industry Station facility in Beltsville, Maryland. This machine was used to determine the drillability of four ammonium nitrate materials under humid conditions. To conduct the test, the materials were placed in the hopper and divided by partitions to prevent mixing. Following distribution, the spreading board underneath the hopper was examined to see how the materials adhered to the board as a result of high humidity and assess the resulting collection of moisture on the surface of the fertilizer particles.
