Portrait of Isaac Ott (1847-1916). Ott was born in Northampton County, Pennsylvania on November 30, 1847 and graduated from Lafayette College (class of 1867). Ott went onto study medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (class of 1869) and also undertook post-graduate work at the University of Leipsec in Germany and Harvard Medical School. Ott practiced medicine in Easton, Pennsylvania and served as Demonstrator of Physiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Ott also served as Chair of Physiology at the Medico-Chirurgical College in Philadelphia, as well as Consulting Neurologist to the Norristown (Pennsylvania) Asylum.
