Geehrter Herr Doktor!
Der Vorschlag meine Abhandlungen aus der schwedischen Akademie deutsch erscheinen zu lassen in Klassiker-Ausgabe hat mich in hohem Grade gefreut und nicht weniger, dass Sie sich die Mühe geben wollen, diese Arbeit zu übernehmen. Es entsteht so ein doppeltes Andenken, an die schönen Sommertage in "Heideveld" bei Hilversum, wo ich, sagen wir bei Nachtigallenklang und duftenden Reseden, die Abhandlung schrieb, und dann auch an die schönen Tage, die wir zusammen zu Amsterdam verlebten. Die Zustimmung, die Sie wünschten, werden also mit beiden Händen geschenkt.
Gerne sehe ich die Korrekturen nochmals ein und habe dann eventuell noch Anleitung zu irgend einer Note.

The suggestion to publish my essays from the Swedish Academy in German in the classic edition pleased me very much. I am also delighted that you would take on this work. This opportunity reminds me of the beautiful summer days in Heideveld near Hilversum, where I wrote the essay with the sound of nightingales and fragrant mignonette in the background, as well as the wonderful days that we spent together in Amsterdam.
