This collection’s scope covers the professional career and a large portion of the personal life of Max Bredig (1902-1977), a research chemist who immigrated to the United States to escape the effects of National Socialism in Germany. The contents include many photographs that document Max’s life in Germany prior to Nazi rule. This collection is an addendum to the Papers of Georg and Max Bredig, also held by the Science History Institute, where personal correspondence from Max Bredig to friends and family members for the years 1933-1945 can be found. Select photographs from the Papers of Max Bredig have been digitized and may be found here.
